Running Snow Leopard

Post image for Running Snow Leopard

I have successfully installed Snow Leopard on my MacBook Pro, and it went relatively smoothly. There was a hang issue at login after the computer restarted, but I had to force shutdown the computer, and restart holding shift down to disable extensions and startup/login items. After cleaning my login items, everything worked as expected.
Safari plugins are not working in 64-bit mode. You can get them to work again by selecting 32-bit mode as hinted on TUAW.

Another challenge is to get third party VPN software working again. I had issues with Checkpoint SecureClient not working on Snow Leopard. But I got it working by following the hint on the Sysadmin’s World page. Here is a hint about how to get the Installer package for Checkpoint’s SecureClient R56 to work with Snow Leopard if you have several macs to update.
Now I just have to keep an eye on updated applications the next few weeks to get all running smoothly again.
