Trying to get Windows 7 (and Vista) to connect to a SMB share on a Mac Server is problematic, but changing these security options in Windows enables it to connect again. Just go to:

Control Panel – Administrative Tools – Local Security Policy

Local Policies – Security Options

Network security: LAN Manager authentication level
Send LM & NTLM responses

Minimum session security for NTLM SSP
Disable Require 128-bit encryption
