I often tend to end up with a lot of Applications installed on my system, so sometimes it is hard to find the right application for a specific job. But there is a solution for that: Spotlight Comments in the Finder.

Spotlight Comment are useful for tagging your Applications. If you search for a twitter client, and you have several installed and want all of them to show up in your spotlight search, the easiest way to do this is to type the word “twitter” in the comment field of the application.

Select your Twitter application icon and press Commando+I. This brings up the more info window. Then just type in the word twitter in the comments field. I am not sure if the comment stays intact if you update the Application.
