Generating iCal week numbers

Post image for Generating iCal week numbers

Unfortunately Apples iCal does not include a way to show week numbers. So if You need to add week numbers to iCal, there is an easy way to do this. There is a php script available that calculates week numbers and outputs a .ics file ready to import into iCal. If You don’t want to run the script, I have generated iCal week number for 2010 available for download here.

Yes, I use it all the time, so I will update it. Hopefully Apple will include week numbers in a future iCal release.

Hi

I found last year a week numbers iCal that only put an “all day” Event only on the monday of the week (with the weeks number). This was much better than having all days of the calendar marked.

Can your calendar be modified for this?

Sincerely yours
Peter

Thanks a lot! Shame on Apple for not including week numbers straight away!

Thanks. The only thing I can put a finger on is that the ical on iphone will show that you are busy all day every day. Can you fix that?

Hjalti á Lava March 18, 2010 at 13:07

We are all waiting for Apple to fix this permanently.

Hi there..

How do I remove the script?

Petter April 10, 2010 at 07:57

Aaaaaahh… My bad.
PLEASE make Apple correct this, and in a gentler way… MAybe by just making ONE notice every monday instead of the entire week.
