If you are like me and keep a large number of applications installed on your Mac, you need some kind of strategy to keep them updated, so your Mac will run smoothly. I currently have more than 450 applications installed and counting! Most of them I do not use on a daily basis, but I like to keep them around and handy, when I need them from time to time. Some of these applications have autoupdate builtin, but that is not always the case.
There are two utilities I have found particular useful for keeping my Mac updated and current: AppFresh and the App Update widget. Both are free at the moment. If you ever should decide to uninstall any of your application, I would go for AppZapper, a nice shareware utility. So go ahead and update your Mac, and don’t be afraid to try out software you find interesting, it is easy to uninstall it with AppZapper.
